After Wednesday’s siege at the U.S. Capitol, Forbes Editor has warned companies from hiring from the Trump administration.
What We Know:
- Randall Lane believes that businesses that choose to hire previous Trump spokespeople should be under close scrutiny, says Business Insider. “Forbes will assume that everything your company or firm talks about is a lie,” said Lane. Adding that they will investigate as much as they would with a Trump tweet.
- Lane reflected on the recent Capitol attack and the Trump administration in an article called “A Truth Reckoning: Why We’re Holding Those Who Lied For Trump Accountable“. He stated that in order for American democracy to recover, we must “create repercussions for those who don’t follow the civic norms”.
- Trump’s press secretaries were called out by name by Lane. Sean Spicer, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Stephanie Grisham, Kayleigh McEnany, and former White House counselor Kellyanne Conway were called “Trump’s fellow fabulists”.
- Since Wednesday’s events, conversations have sparked from administration officials regardings fears for their reputations. Additionally, officials believe they may have a more difficult time finding starting careers.
Amid the fear of the administration’s reputation, several Trump officials have resigned. Among those that have resigned are Betsy DeVos, Elaine Chao, Mick Mulvaney, Stepanie Grisham, and Sarah Matthews.
